I published my 100th lens this week. The lucky lens is an early one for Halloween:Â Making Halloween Costumes from Household Items.
After seeing my Torchwood lens float up to around the 120 mark earlier in the year, and spending several weeks trying to get it more traffic to push it into the top 100, I finally gave it up as a lost cause when it dropped below 500. Then, today, I looked at my dashboard and noticed that Torchwood was right at the top - a place reserved for my Pirate Costumes lens for longer than a year. And only then did I notice the lensrank. In all my busy-ness making lens after lens to get those 100 lenses under my belt by 30 June for the Giant Squid Top 100 Club challenge, I hadn’t been paying attention to my top lenses at all. I finally have two lenses in the Top 100!

Fantastic Feat — 100 lenses and two in the top 100! You have certainly figured it all out! I have a grand total of eight lenses.
My highest ranked lens is at 3,975 and is L.M. Montgomery Creator of Anne of Green Gables. Within its category, it is number 231. (Why does that feel so much better?)
My second highest ranked lens is Not on DVD You Say? - VHS Collector’s Guide at number 5,189 and number 215 in its category. However, it has always received more hits than all the others.
I have seen your Pirate Costumes lens before. (I love Johnny Depp and I have 14 and 16 year old pirate-loving sons!) I will have a look at the other costume lens, too.
If you had to give one recommendation for success, what would it be?
I wish you continued good luck with your lenses!

Thanks Brenda
The best advice I can give is to make lenses on something you’re really interested in. That way when you find information relating to the topic, the first thing you want to do is add it to your lens, or make a new lens. That interest eventually adds up to a good body of work, and the momentum tends to carry through to a big proportion of your lenses.

Daoine
I seemed to have missed the Giant Squid 100 lens challenge by June 30th.
Is there someplace to sign up?

Comfortdoc you and I both made it! Here’s the link to the Top 100 Giant Squid list. Congratulations!

Congratulations! I imagine your Torchwood lens is getting a lot of Canadian traffic at the moment as John is a Judge on the Canadian version of “Maria?” looking to find the next nun wanna-be-turn-governess. I’ve been watching it and he looks as hot as ever (maybe a little too much make-up). I so miss Torchwood!

Ah! That would explain the jump. I was wondering where it had come from suddenly.
